November 5, 1922 (old) marks the 450th anniversary of the return from a distant and difficult trip to India of our glorious compatriot - the Tver merchant Afanasy Nikitin, who left very valuable notes about everything he saw in the eastern countries. Wanting to enable wide readership to get acquainted with the notes left by Afanasy Nikitin, the Council of the Society for the Study of the Tver Territory decided to print a separate book of the work of a member of the Society - E.A. Mirozhina, who made a report on "Walking" in the Historical and Cultural Section of the Society, and then prepared it for publication.
