Textbook "History of Volhynia. Volume 1" is devoted to covering the local history of one of the most important historical and geographical regions of Ukraine - Volyn, which, according to the modern administrative-territorial division, covers the Volyn and Rivne regions, the western part of the Zhytomyr and northern parts of the Ternopil and Khmelnitsky regions. In ancient times, Volyn also occupied the territories of modern Kholmshchina, Podlasie, Lublin, Belzka land (now Poland), the southern part of the Brest land (modern Belarus). Volhynia is one of the oldest regions of Eastern Europe and one of the centers of Slavic ethnogenesis. The volume covers the history of the formation of Volhynia as a territorial phenomenon and covers its historical development from the beginning of the appearance of man to the formation of the first pre-state unions in these spaces.
