The collection is devoted to the creative biography of V. M. Vasnetsov, one of the outstanding artists of the second half of the XIX - beginning of the XX century (1848-1926). It included letters, diaries, reports and memoirs of V. M. Vasnetsov for the period from 1871 to 1926, as well as letters, articles, memoirs of his contemporaries, against which a wide panorama of the artistic and cultural life of Russia emerges from the creation of the Association of Traveling Art Exhibitions to the activities of the Union of Russian Artists and the "World of Art." This collection is the first publication of the epistolary heritage of V. M. Vasnetsov. Most of the materials have not been published before.
