In this revised edition of and "Bibliography of Medieval Drama and " the format has been altered in some details, and more than 5000 entries have been added to the 1954 edition. The arrangement of divisions has been changed, with greater prominence as well as treatment being accorded to the liturgical Latin drama. Within the various sections devoted to scholarly studies the entries now appear in chronological rather than in alphabetical order. The continued listing of material relating to the French, German, Italian, and Spanish drama is not meant to be exhaustive, although each of these sections has been enlarged. Rather, sections devoted to the continental medieval drama have been included on a selective basis, as the material is intended primarily as an aid for students of the English drama. Although there have been a number of changes from the first edition, many features remained more or less the same. Thus, each entry gives the full name of the author, the complete title of the work, together with the place of publication, and the publisher, the date, and the major pagination. If the work is of sufficient importance, and contains a bibliography, the pages of the bibliography are noted.
