The book provides an overview of the concept of the French thinker Henri Bergson, a classic of Western philosophy of the 20th century, winner of the Nobel Prize in Literature (1927). The evolution of A. Bergson's views is studied in detail - from philosophical psychology developed in early works to the ethical and religious concept set forth in "Two Sources of Morality and Religion" (1932); some aspects of the reception of Bergson's teachings in Russia at the end of the 19th - first two decades of the 20th century are considered. The book, containing elements of the genre of philosophical biography, uses new factographic material. Attached is a translation of two works by Bergson, first published in Russian.
