The book covers the issues of dialect division of Polesie according to language and folk culture, its areal connections with other areas of the Slavic world, considers vocabulary and phraseology associated with traditional rites and customs. Most of the articles are based on new field material collected in different areas of the Belarusian and Ukrainian Polesie by expeditions 1974-1981.
