Madison and "Maddy and " Lee is spunky, independent, and stuck in her hometown of Franklin, NC where she manages and runs the kitchen at her family diner, "Kiss My Grits." Maddie dreams of handing the reins of the restaurant over to her sous chef and little sister so she can take her unique southern-style breakfasts and brunches up a notch to make it big in Nashville, the food capital of the south. The only problem? It's hard to say goodbye to her quirky family and the little restaurant that she's worked in almost her entire life. Even though her big-city dreams are just over the other side of the mountain, Nashville might as well be a world away. Hunter Barnes is a wannabe food vlogger and independent culinary journalist living back home in Franklin after being away for almost ten years. After attending college in NYC and living all over the country, Hunter is back home where his heart is, ready to elevate the southern cuisine food scene. Unfortunately, one of the first restaurants he poorly reviews is run by none other than his long-ago high school crush, Madison Lee. When Maddy's sous chef and heavily pregnant sister, Lily, goes into labor, Hunter, steps in to give a hand. Little by little, they become more aware of their growing attraction to one another, and Maddy begins to see Hunter in a new light. However, when Maddy's grant to open her business comes through, she must decide between staying home for her family, exploring her feelings for Hunter or heading to Nashville for her dream.
