The period of the turn of the XIX - XX centuries entered Russian history as one of the unusually bright bursts of creative energy. Such a rapid rise in creative activity became, among other things, the reason for the birth in the minds of contemporaries of a special style - Art Nouveau, which was intended to awaken an aesthetic feeling, to remove it from the world of everyday life. The Art Nouveau age lasted for about thirty years, from the very end of the 80s - early 90s - until the outbreak of the 1914 war. The Art Nouveau style attracted all, without exception, Russian composers living at the turn of the century, and those who thought innovatively and loudly declared this, and those who militantly defended academic views. Such different musical personalities as the late P.I. Tchaikovsky and N.A. Rimsky-Korsakov, A. Glazunov and An. Lyadov, S.Rakhmaninov, A.Skryabin and I.Stravinsky absorbed the ubiquitous spirit of fashion - the Art Nouveau style, and in completely different ways reflected in their work all the many faces of the palette of this mysterious phenomenon, woven from the elusive multicolor of style features.
