The work of P.P. von Winkler "Weapons" is devoted to the history of weapons from the time of their appearance until the beginning of the XIX century. It deals with the weapons of the Egyptians, Celts and other peoples that existed with them before the formation of states, and weapons of a later time of the peoples of Austria, England, Belgium, Germany, India, Spain. Italy, Russia, Switzerland, France, Japan and other countries. The main material is devoted, of course, to individual defensive and offensive weapons, mainly cold, but some of the material refers to throwing weapons, including firearms. Edged weapons are illuminated in sufficient detail with a statement of the characteristic differences of the samples, an explanation of the functional features of the parts, the reasons for their evolution, etc.
