The pilot of the assault aviation regiment Alexei Zhuravlev, after treatment in the hospital, is eager to go to the front with all his might to take to the sky in the legendary Il-2, although he was born decades after the Great Victory over Germany. What strength brought the modest technological engineer to the rainy November 1941 - it doesn't matter! Alexey does not want to sit in the deep rear, although he has the right to do so after being wounded, and immediately chooses the deadly profession of an attack aircraft, usually "living over the battlefield" for only two sorties, in order to somehow help the Red Army Air Force close the gap in its ranks after huge losses in summer battles.
