The book gives an analysis of the 27-year period (1672-1699) of Turkish rule in Podillia. In August 1672, after a fierce two-week siege, the once impregnable fortress in Kamenetz-Podolsky surrendered to the Turks, and from that moment on, for almost three decades, Kamenetz remained the main northern outpost of Islam, the center of the newly created Kamenetsky Eyalet of the Ottoman Empire. The book tells about the causes and consequences of Turkish expansion, as well as about the diverse military, economic, political and other processes that took place on the territory of "Turkish Podillia" - from administrative reforms and population censuses to ensuring control over these lands with the help of garrisons located in a number of key fortifications.
