From its opening in 1864 to the present, it has never been closed, and from 1939 to 1941 it was the only functioning Orthodox church in the entire Crimean peninsula. A large number of archival sources used, many of which are published in this book for the first time, shed light not only on the history of the temple itself, but also on little-known pages in the history of Orthodoxy in Simferopol.
