The tutorial provides the basic design ratios for classic reactive filters, as well as methods for assessing their performance indicators such as mass, dimensions, efficiency and the degree of influence on the characteristics of loss filters and instability of element parameters. On the basis of the energy theory of reactive four-poles, a new approach to the calculation (synthesis) of LC filters with optimization of these operational indicators was substantiated and brought to a practical methodology.
