It sets out the basics of radio engineering and collects the materials necessary for a radio amateur in his practical work: the organization of the workplace, the choice of parts, installation principles, descriptions of specific designs of radio receivers, amplifiers, electric guitars, etc. For novice radio athletes, descriptions of simple VHF equipment are given. Articles are also given on measurements, methods of designing radio equipment, installing and repairing radio receivers. The introductory chapter is devoted to the history of radio and amateur radio, and the final chapter is devoted to an overview of the achievements of Soviet radio electronics. In the fifth edition, a number of chapters have been revised, and some of them have been written anew.
