Original data are provided regarding the introduction of bulbous and corm to the north. Information is given on the structure of bulbs and corms, on vegetative and seed reproduction, a classification of underground organs is given, as well as their scientific terminology. There is information about the conditions for growing these plants, about their diseases and pests. About 100 species and 50 best varieties tested at experimental sites under semi-production conditions are described.
