The published materials of the case of the terrorist act committed by the Narodnaya Volya revolutionaries on March 1, 1881, as a result of which Emperor Alexander II died of his wounds on the same day, will allow the reader to feel without intermediaries the time when a merciless and irreconcilable struggle was waged in Russia between the autocracy and the growing revolutionary element of denial and destruction for the sake of their ideals of the state system.
