The book deals with some high-level models of parallel and distributed programming. In order of complication, several models of the internal organization of parallel programs are described: a tier-parallel form of the program, networks of finite state machines, Petri nets, a model of actors, as well as a model of quantum computing. Examples of software implementations in C++ using various parallelization tools (OpenMP, MPI, POSIX Threads, Windows API) are given.
