Indeed, events in the world occur periodically at stress points, and not everywhere and not simultaneously throughout the planet. Therefore, human inactivity and political turmoil will nevertheless lead to the consequences predicted by the model, they will undoubtedly manifest themselves first in the form of a series of local crises and disasters. But it may be equally true that the echo of these crises will sweep across the planet, and states and peoples, taking hasty rescue measures or trying to isolate themselves in order to save only themselves, will greatly complicate the conditions for managing the system as a whole. The interdependence of the various components of the world system will ultimately reduce all such attempts to zero.
