Kirov (Kostrikov) Sergey Mironovich - leader of the Communist Party and the Soviet state. Member of the Communist Party since 1904. A fiery tribune, infinitely devoted to the work of the party, Kirov enjoyed great authority and love among the Soviet people. December 1, 1934 he was killed by an enemy of the Communist Party in Smolny (Leningrad). He was awarded the Order of Lenin and the Order of the Red Banner. He was buried in Moscow on Red Square near the Kremlin wall.
