The book "Battles at Khalkhin-Gol" was created on the instructions of the Main Directorate of Political Propaganda of the Red Army. It was written by the Red Army, commanders, political workers, writers and journalists - direct participants in the hostilities. Many articles were written in the midst of the fighting. The book does not set itself the task of summarizing the experience of military operations.
