For the first time, the most significant works of the outstanding domestic psychologist, representative of the St. Petersburg psychological school Mikhail Yakovlevich Basov (1892-1931), a student of A.F. Lazursky, are reprinted. The monograph "Will as a Subject of Functional Psychology" (1922) examines the essence of this mental phenomenon, provides a critical analysis of theories of will, and analyzes empirical research in detail.
