An international political thriller based on a major American spy scandal of the 1980s that has never been About the Novel A malfunctioning alternator on a car used in an Israeli special operations raid leads to a violent confrontation between the intelligence services of the United States and Israel. Large crowds, public places - some people are in extreme danger; everyone else is perfectly safe . . . It is June 1992. A senior Mossad executive is asking for asylum in the United States in return for information on an Israeli intelligence source who has worked in the U.S. intelligence community. The existence of this source came to the attention of U.S. officials during the controversy over a major spy scandal of the 1980s in which a civilian analyst at the U.S. Navy was caught providing classified information to Israel. The source referred to as X was never identified. The defecting Mossad official will finally close this gap. Unknown to the Americans, Mossad accidentally learns of this plan on the very morning it is to take place, quickly assigns a team of agents to resolve the defection over a 36 hour period and keep it out of the public eye. At the same time, a Mossad executive realizes that he will be implicated in a series of rogue intelligence operations, which then lead to incorrect assumptions, poorly analyzed confrontations, and the wrong set of actions which place innocent lives in danger. A poorly organized police action leads to a violent confrontation on a passenger jet over the Mediterranean; a team of Mossad agents use a masterful scheme of deceit to force the hand of a CIA intelligence officer at Cointrin Airport in Geneva; a husband wife barely escape with their lives in Paris; and CIA security staff live through eight minutes of terror as they try to disarm a bomb at CIA headquarters at Langley, Virginia. The wife of a CIA intelligence officer and a young female U.S. Air Force co-pilot of a C-141 Starlifter save the day. A surprise ending still does not answer every question. An ideal ebook to read while traveling. As you read the novel, look for the historical parallels; do your own investigation into the actual background; enjoy the book even more!
