The two-volume collection of articles contains a summary of basic information on physical and geometric optics, a description of the main optical materials, auxiliary techniques and devices, eye properties, in particular in connection with night vision issues, visibility and camouflage problems. Two sections are devoted to photography in military affairs and optical signaling. A large place is given to the use of binoculars, pipes, periscopes, sights and other military optics.
