The present, second Soviet edition is an abridged translation of the memoirs published in France by the Fayar publishing house in 1968-1972. Memoirs in six volumes of a prominent figure in the French and international communist movement, one of the leaders of the French Communist Party, Jacques Duclos, who died in 1975. Materials for the Soviet edition were selected by the author himself. The second Soviet edition is being undertaken in three volumes.
