Marriage is a sacrament. This means that the specific community of life and love created by a man and a woman, based on honesty and fidelity, readiness for the birth and upbringing of children and realized in the prospect of living together until death, is especially marked by God's presence. Living in such a marriage opens the way for Catholic spouses to holiness, leads them to a meeting with God.
