"Konarmia" is the main work of I.E. Babel. It is dedicated to the Polish campaign of the First Cavalry Army in 1920. The book is published according to the first separate edition published by the State Publishing House in 1926 and including 34 stories. The "Supplements" included four stories that adjoin the cavalry cycle, articles from the newspaper "Red Cavalryman," a diary of 1920, "Plans and sketches for the "Cavalry,"" "Discrepancies in stories." The notes compare the historical realities mentioned in "Konarmiya" and in Babel's diary with the memoirs of the CM. Budyonny and testimonies of other participants in the events, as well as with genuine documents from the period of the Soviet-Polish war of 1920.
