Orlov Alexander Petrovich [1772 or 1773. – 1802]. From the nobles. After the death of his father (1789), together with his brothers Vasily, Pavel and Peter, he inherited estates in the Moscow and Tula provinces. He served in the Preobrazhensky regiment, but rose only to the rank of fourier; retired with the rank of second lieutenant of the guard (Jan. 1796). For some time he lived in Moscow, where he met a young writer, then still a sentimentalist, E. I. Stanevich. In con. 1790s - beg. 1800s lived in Tula, where he got close to the gymnasium teacher F. G. Pokrovsky (pseudo. "Philosopher of Mount Alaunskaya"). In con. June 1802 O. moved to with. Nikolskoye. On the estate, he began the life of a rural owner: he replaced the quitrent with corvee and "the peasants, seen in laziness and for failure to fulfill his orders, often punished bodily." Apparently, it was quite cruel, because the peasants decided to kill their master. On the night of October 3-4, when O. was driving from Serpukhov, they attacked him and beat him to death with clubs.
