The monograph is devoted to a comprehensive study of crafts and crafts of the rural population of the Middle Dnieper of the 9th-13th centuries. collected archaeological artifacts on this topic, reflecting raw materials, tools, devices, production facilities, semi-finished products, finished products, scrap and production waste. Based on the analysis of archaeological data, ethnographic analogies, reports of written sources and the results of experiments on field modeling of handicraft and industrial production, a generalized study of ancient Russian crafts and crafts was carried out in accordance with their technological stages, as well as a comparative analysis with the corresponding types of production of ancient Russian cities and settlements.
