The series "Adventures of the Plot" continues to acquaint the reader with little-known options and new translations of popular fairy tales, shows stories known since childhood in their development. In our edition, "Puss in Boots" has a "backstory" and "afterword": an Italian short story about a cat was published in Venice a century and a half before the tale of Charles Perrault, the play of the same name about the Cat by the German romantic Ludwig Thicke was published at the end of the 18th century and translated into Russian in 1914 by the Silver Age writer Vasily Hippius. The first translation of the tale of Kot, made in the clerical language of the 18th century, contrasts sharply with the poetic exposition of Vasily Zhukovsky. The plot "Donkey Skin" is represented by the first translated novel by B. de Perrier and a new translation of the fairy tale poem by S. Perrault, the author of translations from French is the poet Alexander Rapoport. The plot ends with the Grimm brothers fairy tale "Donkey," where under the donkey skin is no longer a princess, but a prince. The book is addressed to teachers of literature, students, older and middle-aged children and all lovers of fairy tales.
