The book was written on the basis of a course of lectures given to students of the Physics Department of Moscow State University. M.V. Lomonosov. Inverse problems of geophysics were considered as the main applications. The mathematical apparatus described in the first chapter was successfully used to solve the inverse problems of astrophysics, image processing, vibrational spectroscopy, electron microscopy, acoustics and many others.
