The task of the current, complete collection of poems by Sylvia Plath is to combine in one volume all her poems, including those that were not included in previous books or were not published at all. As far as possible, the poems had to be arranged in chronological order in order to present the readers of this unusual poet in development. This single volume consists of 224 poems written after 1956, but in addition to the main body, it included another 501 poems selected from those written before 1956.
