This work attempts to highlight one of the interesting and poorly studied issues of the history of Ossetia - the emergence and development of the cities of Mozdok, Vladikavkaz and Alagir from the moment of their foundation until the end of the 19th century, their transformation from small military fortifications into capitalist cities, local market regulators, centers factory industry.
