Vladimir Klavdievich Arsenyev (1872-1930) - Russian traveler, geographer, ethnographer, writer and researcher of the Far East. Arseniev made his first expeditions in the region as a military topographer. His task was to conduct a route survey, but this seemed to be not enough for the scientist and along the way he collected scientific materials about the relief, geology, flora and fauna of Southern Primorye and Sikhote-Alin, about the peoples inhabiting these places.
