The book is devoted to the problems of the unity of the Russian literary process during the preparation and implementation of the Peter's reforms (second half of the XVII - beginning of the XVIII century). She explores the ways and forms of mastering Western European baroque on Russian soil, the development of classicism and the interaction of these two directions in Russia.
