This work deals with the installation of sawmills, and installation is understood in the broadest sense of the word, from the work of the metalwork and assembly shop of a machine-building plant that manufactures frames, to installation in operating conditions. In the first three chapters, the classification, design and technical characteristics of forests are given. The appendix contains the results of measurements of imported and Soviet forests for assembly accuracy. This material is borrowed from the works of the Central Research Institute of Mechanical Processing of Wood (TsNIIMOD). It is known that foresters are divided into two classes - vertical and horizontal. Only vertical machines are disassembled here, since horizontal ones are very rare in our country and have the same kinematics, and therefore the assembly principles are the same as for vertical machines.
