This book presents the most important texts about tea and tea culture in China during the Tang (618-907) and Song (960-1279) eras. This is the second edition of Lu Yu's "Canon of Tea" and Suna treatises that have not been translated before. Works on the philosophy and technique of tea action reveal a whole range of knowledge about the cultivation and processing of tea, tools for a tea ceremony and tea drinking traditions in medieval China. The texts were commented in detail by Yu. A. Dreyzis, associate professor of the Department of Chinese Philology, ISAA, Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov.
