Ekaterina Furtseva was perhaps the only woman in the USSR who managed to make a dizzying political career. As high as she, none of the party representatives of the fair sex took off. Furtseva was a member of the Presidium of the Central Committee of the CPSU, Secretary of the Central Committee of the CPSU, First Secretary of the Moscow City Party Committee and for almost fourteen years - Minister of Culture of the USSR.
