The book examines the motion of charged particles in electric and magnetic fields based on representations of classical physics. These ideas retain their strength not only when analyzing the movements of charged particles under the influence of macroscopic external fields, but form the foundation necessary for understanding the processes of interaction of particles in plasma - processes in which microscopic fields of individual particles participate. An important feature of the book is that it sets out the scientific foundations of a number of areas of modern experimental technology, taking into account its latest achievements. In particular, the book consistently analyzed the principles of operation and the device of charged particle accelerators (cyclotron, betatron, as well as modern installations - microtron, synchrotron, phasotron, synchrophasotron). A separate chapter deals with plasma physics. The content of the book corresponds to the introductory section of the course of electronic and atomic physics, read at the Physics Department of Moscow State University.
