The book is devoted to the actual problem of research of science - the question of its parametric structure and the possibilities of synthesizing systemic and historical approaches to its analysis. The evolution of structural states in the history of science is traced from ancient times up to modern NTR. Socio-economic, cultural-historical and other factors of the development of science are considered. An attempt has been made to apply a parametric approach to describing the main system characteristics of science.
