New Economic Policy (abbreviated NEP or NEP) is an economic policy pursued in the 1920s in Soviet Russia. It was adopted on March 14, 1921 by the X Congress of the RCP (B.), Replacing the policy of "war communism" carried out during the Civil War, which led Russia to economic decline. The new economic policy was aimed at introducing private entrepreneurship and reviving market relations, with the restoration of the national economy.
