The monograph examines the historical background and sociocultural conditions for the origin and development of the Muslim educational paradigm among the peoples of the North Caucasus. Muslim issues in the social and educational policy of the Russian Empire of the 19th century are discussed. The history of the education system of the Muslim peoples of the North Caucasus in the context of the socio-legal platform of Russian educational policy is analyzed. The contribution of the most odious Muslim enlighteners Shamil and K. Atazhukin to the cause of public education of the 19th century is revealed.
