Biographical essays about Yesenin, written by A. Kruchenykh, were received ambiguously by many contemporaries. Vladimir Mayakovsky, in particular, like many other poets who knew Yesenin, spoke negatively about the characteristics of the Kruchenykh. One of the main thoughts of A. Kruchenykh about Yesenin and his poetry: Yesenin is a "poet of suicide," "Yesenin's inner life in recent years has only been the road to death." The disclosure of this thesis on the material of the poetic work of Yesenin Kruchenykh and devoted his essay.
