In August 1941, by decision of the Chernihiv regional party committee, a partisan detachment was organized in the Dobryansky district, which included G.S. Artozeev. On August 18, 1941, the detachment went deep into the forest. Already in the first battles with the Nazi invaders G.S. Artozeev distinguished himself by courage and fearlessness.
