This short Finnish-Russian and Russian-Finnish dictionary contains over 12,000 words in its Finnish-Russian part and about 20,000 words in the Russian-Finnish part. The dictionary is intended for both students and speakers of Finnish, as well as for foreign citizens and tourists. The dictionary can be used as a guide when translating texts of average difficulty from Russian into Finnish, as well as from Finnish into Russian. In the choice of lexical material, the dictionary focuses on the modern literary language (socio-political, popular science, artistic and everyday vocabulary). The dictionary includes the most common phrases, phraseological units, as well as a number of words and clichéd expressions from colloquial speech. To help tourists, an appendix at the end of the dictionary contains brief information on phonetics and a short phrasebook.
