"Psychology of pathological accumulation" is the first publication in Russia that comprehensively covers the problem of pathological accumulation, also known in our country as Plyushkin syndrome. The book includes methods of psychodiagnostics of pathological accumulation, materials for differential diagnostics, analysis of differences between pathological accumulators of things and animals, as well as a large-scale review of scientific studies of cognitive, emotional, behavioral and socio-psychological characteristics of people with pathological accumulation. The three pathological hoarding models proposed in the book - cognitive behavioral, psychodynamic, and attachment theory-based model - provide a better understanding of people with this disorder and offer them effective strategies to help. The publication is practice-oriented, contains many examples of practice and is addressed both to specialists in helping professions - psychologists, psychotherapists, social workers, and to a wide audience interested in practical psychology. For psychoanalytically oriented psychologists, the psychoanalytic study of the role of ambivalence in the development of attachment and the understanding of pathological accumulation as a form of connection with a transitional object will be of interest.
