The book describes the 170-year history of the Brest Fortress, a wonderful monument of fortification art of the first half of the 19th century, from its inception to the present day. Interesting historical facts are given related to the design, construction of the fortress, which was an outpost of the Russian Empire in 1842-1914. It is told about the heroism of the Polish and Soviet defenders of the Brest Fortress in 1939 and 1941, about the creation of a museum and a memorial complex on the territory of the fortress.
