The book describes Power Query, an advanced business analysis tool built into Excel, Power BI, and other Microsoft products for connecting to and transforming data sources. It describes how to process Excel tables without using complex formulas and macros, select data from multiple sources, combine mismatched tables, and save context when generating queries. Particular attention is paid to the basic and advanced methods of canceling column folding (Unpivot) and collaboration on reports. An introduction to the M formula language is given and it is shown how to correctly form queries, avoiding failures and "traps." The issues of text analytics and knowledge extraction from texts, as well as social network analytics are considered. At the end of the book is the final project, combining and consolidating the acquired skills.
