The textbook discusses the theory and practice of compiling dictionaries of the Russian language, the organization of vocabulary. The book reveals the close interaction of lexicography with the science of language, introduces new ideas in modern lexicography, with new types of dictionaries and a new technology for compiling them. The demand for a dictionary in the modern world poses new problems for philological education, the solution of which should be facilitated by the proposed textbook.
