The book for reading on the history of ancient Greece is largely built on the basis of the same principles that guided the editors and the team of authors when working on a book for reading on the history of Rome. Both books are primarily designed to give students accessible additional material to the textbook and thus deepen their interest in studying history. The editors of the book for reading on the history of ancient Greece, as far as possible, took into account all the criticisms and wishes that were expressed during the preliminary discussion of the manuscript. Based on the fact that the history of Greece, in accordance with the curricula, takes place in the V grade of secondary school, the presentation of the material is given as lively as possible and is accessible for children of 11-12 years of age. That is why the authors and editors found it possible, along with the genre of a popular science essay, to introduce chapters written in the form of a fictionalized story into the book.
