A brief dictionary of biological terms was compiled by V.B. Bogorad and A.S. Nekhludova to help secondary school teachers and biology students of pedagogical institutes. This focus determined the selection of words. The dictionary contains terms from the fields of botany, zoology, microbiology, ecology, biochemistry, genetics, paleontology, animal and human physiology, as well as general biology.
